Restylane in Philadelphia
Restylane is dermal fillers made of hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a large molecule that attracts water, making it an ideal filler for restoring lost volume and hydration. There’s little risk of allergic reactions because hyaluronic acid is a naturally occuring substance.

What are Dermal Fillers?
Dermal fillers are injectable soft tissue materials that are injected at varying depths into your skin. Dermal fillers help to smooth out facial wrinkles, restore facial volume, and can augment certain facial features. The effect of dermal fillers is temporary as the injected soft tissue filler material will ultimately be absorbed by your body. Dermal fillers are used to great effect around the eyes, nose, mouth and lips.
Restylane Fillers
Restylane filler injections also use hyaluronic acid. Restylane can be used to improve the appearance of wrinkles on your face and back of hands and to shape your facial features. The Restylane procedure takes 15-60 minutes, and the effects are almost immediate. Restylane results last around 6-18 months.
What Restylane Can Treat
Restylane is used to improve the appearance of your skin by smoothing and filling out wrinkles and augmenting and defining your facial features. Restylane is frequently used in treating areas found on your forehead, temples, cheeks, under the eyes, nose, jawline, and on the back of your hands. Meeting Point Health’s restorative health experts are here to discuss your health and beauty goals and will help you to choose the best filler treatment.
Dermal Filler Benefits
- Anti-Aging: As we age, our fat decreases and our skin wrinkles. Fillers can be used to place volume back where it once was, giving you a healthy, youthful glow.
- Augmentation: Create shape, fullness, and volume. Lip, cheek, and jawline augmentations are the most common. Dermal fillers can define facial features for a natural contour.
Before & After

How the Procedure Works
Both Restylane procedures are safe, effective, and involve minimal discomfort. Meeting Point Health’s expert nurse injectors will use several injections to treat your skin and the procedure will last 15-60 minutes. The initial hydrating and filling effects of your treatment will be seen almost immediately.
What to Expect Before Your Appointment
Dermal fillers are safe and provide almost immediate results, and as with all effective treatments there can cause some side effects. Following your treatment you may experience temporary redness, tenderness and bruising around the injection sites. You can help to minimize these side effects by reducing or pausing your intake of alcohol, salty foods, and certain supplements and medicines prior to your treatment. You may also be advised to avoid hair removal treatments, including tweezing and waxing, in the days before your dermal filler injections.
Results
Dermal filler treatments are customized to the individual. Typically one to four syringes are used depending on the areas treated. Treatment time takes 30 to 60 minutes. Initial swelling is common and decreases over one to two weeks following the treatment. Dermal fillers last one to two years before a follow-up treatment is needed.

QUICK FACTS
FAQs about Juvederm & Restylane
Hyaluronic acid dermal fillers are injected into your skin to provide volume and hydration. This added volume and hydration works to smooth, soften and plump up the overlying skin thus reducing the appearance of wrinkles and augmenting the shape and contours of certain facial features. Hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring sugar molecule that is found in our bodies, plays an important role in the hydration of and nutrient transport within your skin.
Dermal fillers can reframe the proportions of your face to make you look more symmetrical. Sagging skin, wrinkles, frown lines and other imperfections can be reduced and even eliminated with dermal fillers. If symmetry equals beauty, then dermal fillers will make you look great!
Both Restylane and Juvederm are made of hyaluronic acid, but there are a few key differences:
Restylane is a non-animal based product made by Galderma, while Juvederm is derived from cows, and made by Allergan.
While Juvederm is more smooth, Restylane is both granular and more cohesive so it can stay in place and not spread, which makes it ideal for adding volume in very specific areas that are sunken in. The structure of Restylane HA is also very moldable, which allows your provider to create ideal contours and structure.
When comparing costs, Juvederm is more expensive than Restylane.
Cheek
As we age our fat begins to fall off of our muscles causing jowling and aiding in nasolabial folds. Fillers can be used to place volume back to where it once was, giving you the appearance of a nice natural lift. This can also help with under eyes and nasolabial folds because you are displacing the volume back to the cheek.

Common side effects of dermal fillers include redness, tenderness, swelling and bruising at the injection site. These are temporary and can be minimized with proper pre and post treatment care. More serious and less common side effects can include scarring, skin color changes, anaphylaxis, infection and numbness. Any of these side effects should be reported to your doctor immediately.
Dermal fillers may be used in combination with other restorative health procedures. Combining such procedures should only be done under the direction and care of an experienced professional. At Meeting Point Health, we have the expertise to help you decide which combination treatments will be safe and effective for you to achieve your goals.
