FAQS
WHAT IS INVOLVED IN AN INITIAL CONSULT?
Functional Medicine Consult
Duration: 90 minutes
On your first visit to Meeting Point Health, you will meet with both physicians. You will start with an intake with your Patient Care Coordinator for 30 minutes to make sure that we have your complete medical and medication history. Next you will meet with your Functional Medicine provider for 60 minutes, where we will do an extensive evaluation and assessment. Expect a deep dive into the nature of your imbalance, the opportunity to take a deeper dive into your health journey and the opportunity to ask your practitioner questions. During this time, your practitioner will make suggestions regarding more in-depth testing to get to the root cause of your health concerns.
After your appointment, your Patient Care Coordinator will help getting you set up with further testing. We use LabCorp and Quest to obtain some baseline information about your health. In addition to LabCorp or Quest, we use specialty labs that yield detailed results. Your Functional medicine provider will order the specialty tests based upon what information is needed to get to the root cause of your health concerns. In most cases, the specialty tests will be shipped directly to your home, and you will do the testing yourself via urine, stool or a finger prick. We will support you along the way with any questions you may have.
Upon sending your results back to their respective labs, we will wait for the results to come back. Each test differs with the time it takes for the results to arrive, and we will wait until all of your test results are back. At that time, we will reach back out to you regarding scheduling a followup appointment to discuss your results and create a treatment plan to move forward.
Your treatment protocol for healing may include any of the following: lifestyle modifications, ozone therapy, EBOO, nutritional IV therapy, peptide therapy, bioidentical hormone therapy, compounded medications, supplements, and acupuncture.
Your healing is greatly impacted by the ongoing lifestyle choices that you make as well including your diet, exercise and emotional wellbeing and mindset. We will help to outline some guidelines for you to implement at home during your followup treatment appointment. Meeting Point Health will also offer support with ongoing Health Coaching sessions. We also invite you to seek additional support when needed through family, friends and mental health professionals.
Regenerative Orthopedics Consult
Duration: 75 Minutes
On your first visit to Meeting Point Health, you will meet with our Regenerative Orthopedic nurse for the first 15 minutes of your appointment. The nurse will go over any medications you are currently taking, along with a brief summary of why you are in for the consult. You will then meet with your Regenerative Orthopedic physician for a full body evaluation using ultrasound imaging, orthopedic testing, and osteopathic palpation. Dr. Matta is extremely thorough and will look at your entire kinetic chain to see if there are any other areas that are affecting and/or exacerbating your issue. This portion of your consultation will take an hour, and shorts will be provided if the issue has to deal with your lower extremities and/or lower back.
After taking a deeper look at your body and your specific area of concern, we will then formulate a treatment plan for you. Our Regenerative Orthopedic treatment plans can include any of the following: prolozone/prolotherapy, PRP, stem cell injections, nerve hydrodissections, acupuncture, cupping, gua sha, osteopathic manipulation, and more. If injections are recommended as a part of your treatment plan, it will take a few sessions to notice an improvement.
We take a regenerative approach with our treatments, and we do not utilize methods such as steroids, cortisone shots, etc.
Longevity Medicine Consult
Duration: 30-60 Minutes
Here at Meeting Point Health, we take a slow medicine approach when it comes to our Longevity Medicine program. We want to make sure that the results that you receive are long lasting. We do not offer quick fixes, especially when it comes to weight loss.
During your initial consult, you will discuss with your practitioner your anti-aging goals that you feel will increase your vitality. With your goal(s) in mind, we will make suggestions regarding how we can create a roadmap to your success. With weight loss, we may recommend additional testing to address the root cause of why you can’t lose weight including (but not limited to) hormonal testing, gut testing, heavy metal testing, etc. We address these areas to make sure you are at your optimal levels so that your body has the natural ability to heal itself.
After your initial appointment, we will come up with a treatment plan together that will address all of the necessary areas of your life in order to achieve the most optimal results. This may include dietary changes, lifestyle changes, peptide therapy, nutritional infusion therapy, supplementation, laser therapy, microneedling, stem cell treatments, PRP, and more.

WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?
We understand that sometimes life is busy and circumstances arise. Life is life. However, when you schedule an appointment, you are reserving 30-90 minutes of a provider’s time just for you and no one else. In the event of no shows or cancellations within 72 hours of your appointment, you will be responsible for the full cost of the visit which is charged to the card on file. If you are late or no show consistently, we will need to refer you out to another provider who might be able to serve you better.
DO YOU ACCEPT INSURANCE?
No, we are cash based integrative Our practitioners and staff fully understand and empathize with the challenges that you face as you make financial decisions for proper health care. Our practice is very different from a conventional medical practice in many ways, and the time spent with each patient is usually 30-90 minutes. Visits with a physician covered by insurance generally allow for less than 10 minutes total! Conventional medical practices that take insurance maintain brief office visits and high patient volume for this very reason. This does not fit inside the functional medicine model of spending over an hour with a patient to ensure proper care.
Insurance also dictates the types of treatments and what order of treatments patients can receive for a particular condition. For example, if you visit your physician for chronic knee pain, they will likely start with a steroid injection because insurance requires that you exhaust steroid injection efforts before discussing other options, which may possibly impair your overall chances of recovery.
Opting out of insurance allows the patient and the doctor to maintain their medical autonomy, which is imperative to ensure you get the right treatment at the right time and the right dose.
For the reasons listed above, we do not work with insurance companies. Many of our patients do submit their own claims to their insurance company, and we can provide you with a copy of your paid invoice at the end of your visit in order for you to do so.
CAN YOU BE MY PRIMARY CARE PHYSICIAN?
Our services are most helpful when you are looking for answers to your health issues that haven’t been solved in the conventional, or you’re looking to step up your wellness game with modern evidence- based holistic approaches. We find it is best for our patients to keep their primary care physician for annual physicals, yearly screenings, vaccines, and coordination of care. For pretty much everything else, we are happy and well equipped to help when you are injured, sick or looking for optimal performance.
DO YOU ALLOW STUDENTS TO SHADOW?
PGY-4 medical students or residents looking to pursue a career in Regenerative Orthopedics are welcome to reach out. Please know that we have a fairly rigorous vetting process to ensure that those who come into our sacred space have a serious interest in becoming integrative medicine providers. If you are simply looking to fill a rotation, please pursue other options.
DO YOU PERFORM STEROID INJECTIONS?
We do not do steroid injections. Period. Our injection treatments are regenerative, meaning that we aim to REGROW your tissue and stimulate your body to heal itself. Our aim is to reset an inflammatory process that has gone rogue. Remember that our bodies use inflammation to clean up damaged tissue and heal.
ARE THERE ANY SIDE EFFECTS WITH REGENERATIVE INJECTIONS?
Regenerative medicine employs your body’s own immune system so some inflammation is expected and helpful. As with all medical procedures, one should be aware of any potential side effects and risks, though rare, which include bruising, numbness, pain, headache, dizziness, and nausea.
DOES ACUPUNCTURE HURT?
The pain you are currently in is exponentially more agonizing than the hair thin dry needles we use. It is not a hypodermic needle used in a doctor’s office for vaccinations or drawing blood. The needles we use are very fine, about the width of a single strand of hair. In fact, you can fit almost 20 acupuncture needles inside the shaft of your typical hypodermic needle! Most patients feel a tingle when the needle is inserted into the fascia or a heavy sensation if inserted into muscle tissue. Acupuncture is the most cost effective drug free natural modality for any kind of pain or dysfunction.
Can I do Anti-Aging & Aesthetics treatments even if I have a medical condition?
YES and AMEN! Everyone should have the opportunity to feel and look their best. We are an integrative health clinic, with a licensed physician and other licensed medical personnel in-house. We take a full health history for every patient who walks through our doors, and we take into account any and all medical conditions when assessing if a specific treatment is right for you. Most patients will benefit from a focus on nutrition and lifestyle, including patients seeking anti-aging & aesthetic treatments, and so we are equipped to treat all patients with all of the resources that we have.
What if I just want one treatment?
We like to provide our patients with real and honest expectations. That being said, we find that most patients receive desired results after multiple treatments, and with adequate home care and followup. The number of recommended treatments will be determined through your initial consultation and by how you heal throughout the procedures. Our typical recommended engagements are at least 3 months long and extend from there depending on your situation.
How do I access the patient portal?
Our electronic medical record, CERBO, links to our patient portal, so you can access, visit summaries, a direct to MPH messaging platform, lab results, as well as new patient documents to be filled our prior to your first appointment. After making your first appointment, you should receive a link to make a patient portal account. WHERE CAN I FIND MY SUPPLEMENT PRESCRIPTIONS?
