OUR STORY

Years ago, Dr. Stephen and Mary Anne Matta envisioned a medical clinic that was the antithesis of everything missing in conventional medicine. Where your provider felt like a family friend and was invested in your health. A clinic you wanted to tell all your friends and family about. A clinic that gives you hope and encouragement when your body feels like it can no longer keep up with you.

This is Meeting Point Health. As we expand and grow within our vision, we become more than just a medical clinic. We are an organization dedicated to healing for a higher purpose.
What is that purpose? To feel fully integrated within your mind and body so that your spirit is free to live out your full potential!

Meeting Point Health’s Core Values: The 4 Rs

Meeting Point Health takes a holistic approach to the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being of our patients. Our 4R core values drive everything we do:

Relationship

We are relational. You will be guided by an entire team of regenerative and functional medicine specialists who are masters of their craft and understand that the relationship you have with your provider is as vital to your healing as the treatments we do. Most importantly, the relationship you have with yourself.

Reach Your Potential

We help you reach your full potential. What is your life mission? We believe that every human should be able to reach their created potential without feeling trapped in a body that is working against them. We here every step of the way.

Root Cause

We find the root cause of your health concerns. Functional  Medicine aims at finding the underlying causes of your health condition through advanced functional assessment. We then use the findings to construct a precise individualized protocol.   Every treatment plan is individualized to the patient. Whether the issue be singular or complex, it requires curiosity, time and understanding.

Regenerative

We are regenerative. We firmly believe that the body has the ability to heal itself through its own innate regenerative properties. Our Regenerative  Orthopedic Therapies accomplish just that. The body is incredibly resilient! Even when it seems you are trapped in chronic pain, introducing the correct regenerative treatment can actually heal tissues and correct degeneration and dysfunction. Dr. Stephen Matta is a master physician of Regenerative Orthopedics. He treats every case like a complex puzzle, assessing and analyzing the dysfunction from multiple perspectives until the root cause of the problem is discovered and treated successfully.

Functional Medicine Treatments

Functional medicine is a multi-disciplinary approach to understanding and treating complex chronic illnesses. Providers specializing in functional medicine take the time to get to know the patient and learn about contributing factors to their health history, including biological, behavioral, psychosocial, and environmental components.
Many of our patients choose a regenerative functional medicine approach where traditional forms of medicine, such as prescription medications, are no longer effective in treating their autoimmune diseases or other chronic conditions.
This patient-centered, holistic form of medicine allows patients to receive personalized treatment protocols that may include various cutting-edge therapies to meet their unique needs.

Peptides are the building blocks of proteins and signaling molecules, carrying out various important functions within the cells of the body. Peptide therapy has a wide range of effects on the body, including an improved immune system, reduced inflammation, improved gut and mental health, neurocognitive enhancement, and beneficial effects on bone and muscle health.

Ozone is a gas made up of three oxygen atoms. It is administered medically via infusion or injection to increase the overall amount of oxygen in your body and stimulate your natural immune system to promote healing. Ozone therapy is beneficial for a variety of conditions by increasing lymphoid cell production and improving blood circulation, oxygenation, detoxification, and natural antioxidant production. It also works as an antimicrobial agent, oxidizing pathogens in blood circulation.

Hormone replacement therapy addresses the imbalance of hormones that can occur. Meeting Point Health offers Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT), in which hormones — identical to the ones produced by your body on the molecular level — are used to treat conditions in which your own natural hormone production is deficient.

Intravenous therapy, or IV therapy, is a functional medicine modality at Meeting Point Health that administers medications, nutrition, and fluids directly into the bloodstream. IV therapy is the fastest and most efficient way to provide a person with hydration, nutrition, and medications, because they are being infused directly into the circulatory system and readily bioavailable to your tissues

Conditions Treated By Functional Medicine

Lyme Disease is caused by a bacterium called Borrelia burgdorferi and is transmitted to humans through the bite of infected ticks and possibly other insects. Although most cases of Lyme disease are acute and easily treated, chronic cases are difficult to diagnose and treat with conventional medicine. At Meeting Point Health, we investigate and treat all tick-borne infections, which are common and complicated. If you are looking for a Lyme-literate doctor in the Philadelphia area, we’re here to help.

There are many alternative therapies offered at Meeting Point Health to treat the symptoms of chronic Lyme disease, including ozone therapy, antimicrobials, IV infusions, functional nutrition, lifestyle management, and acupuncture.

Mold toxicity is caused by mycotoxins produced by certain types of mold. These toxins self-replicate and can become harmful to our health as they accumulate within the body. The most effective forms of treatment include those that promote the body’s natural detoxification processes and regeneration processes of the nervous system, including IV therapy, peptide therapy, nebulizer treatments, infrared sauna, and health coaching.

The gut is often referred to as the “second brain,” as it is home to over 100 million neurons and plays a major role in our overall physical and psychological health. Gut health is important for absorbing nutrients from our food and being a major producer of essential hormones and enzymes. Damaged or unhealthy gut biomes are often the root cause of several health concerns, including severe autoimmune conditions.

At Meeting Point Health, our functional medicine doctors treat gut-related disorders with the 5R method — remove, replace, reinoculate, repair, and rebalance — which uses a step-wise, multidisciplinary approach to treat digestive disorders, restore gut health, and help you heal so that you can reach your full potential.

Regenerative Orthopedic Treatments

Are you experiencing pain and seeking an alternative to steroid painkillers or surgery? Dr. Steve Matta is a master physician of regenerative orthopedics using ultrasound-guided injections of healing agents, such as PRP, peptides, and stem cells for muscle, nerve, and joint pain so you can get back to an active lifestyle.

Regenerative Medicine utilizes various techniques to promote tissue regeneration and healing, including a wide array of injections and infusions of components used to improve a natural self-healing state. This form of therapy is often used as an alternative to the overuse of steroids, pain medications, and surgery.

PRP Injection Therapy

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) is a therapeutic injection technique that utilizes the patient’s own blood platelets to accelerate healing in wounds and orthopedic injuries. PRP injection therapy can also be used in cosmetic procedures, including stimulating hair growth, as well as issues of erectile dysfunction.

Stem cell therapy is a form of regenerative medicine that uses mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) to enhance the body’s natural healing process to repair damaged or injured tissues. MSCs are a unique type of cell in that they can differentiate into many different types of cells. Stem cell therapy is often used in autoimmune disorders, neurological conditions, and orthopedic diseases like joint pain.

Prolotherapy injections enhance the body’s natural healing processes with proliferative agents, such as dextrose. These injections are often used to treat joint injuries and degenerative conditions, as this form of therapy triggers collagen regrowth in the joint space.

Conditions Treated By Regenerative Medicine

Back pain is extremely common and difficult to treat when using only conventional medicine techniques. Common integrative and regenerative therapies used to treat back pain include acupuncture, prolotherapy, prolozone, PRP injections, nerve hydrodissection, IV therapy, and osteopathic manipulation.

Nerve pain is caused by a variety of conditions and is often challenging to treat. Regenerative medicinal techniques for nerve pain include neural injection and hydrodissection therapy to calm or release entrapped nerves. These treatment methods drastically and immediately reduce inflammation and pain around the nerve.

As we age, joint pain becomes increasingly common from either direct injury, disease process, degeneration or overuse. Joint pain can be treated using numerous forms of therapy, including osteopathic manipulation, medical acupuncture, peptide therapy, and various ultrasound-guided regenerative injections into the joint space to reduce inflammation and pain.
