Enhancing Cancer Care: Supportive Therapies

Cancer, a diagnosis that can upend lives in an instant, is a journey filled with challenges, uncertainties, and profound moments of strength. At Meeting Point Health, we understand the complexities of this journey and are committed to providing comprehensive support to our patients in Philadelphia. Our approach extends beyond conventional cancer treatments to embrace adjunctive therapies aimed at enhancing well-being, managing symptoms, and improving quality of life

Understanding Adjunctive Cancer Support

Adjunctive cancer support represents a holistic approach to care, integrating additional therapies alongside conventional treatments like chemotherapy and radiation. This multifaceted approach addresses not only the disease itself but also the overall well-being of the patient. By complementing traditional treatments with adjunctive therapies, we strive to mitigate treatment-related side effects, bolster the immune system, manage pain, and optimize the patient’s physical and emotional health throughout their health journey.

The Therapies We Offer:

IV Ozone Therapy

Medical ozone therapy is an alternative form of medical treatment that utilizes medical grade ozone to treat disease and imbalance. It involves the administration of medical ozone into the body through various methods such as intravenous, insufflation by ears, nose, throat, dental injections, topically, or as purified drinking water. Medical ozone has been well documented for over 150 years and is an extremely safe alternative for adjunct therapy for conditions such as infection, chronic illness, and cancer.

Ozone has oxidative properties that stimulate oxygen metabolism and regulate immune function. The science behind ozone therapy is increasing production of antioxidants, protects mitochondrial DNA from damage, and induces apoptosis of tumor cells.

High Dose Vitamin C

Vitamin C refers to the administration of vitamin C (ascorbic acid) directly into the bloodstream through a IV. Intravenous delivery of vitamin C allows for higher concentrations of the vitamin to be achieved in the blood compared to oral supplementation and are typically recommended as adjunct cancer treatment. The IV nurses titrate weekly beginning at 25 mg to 100 mg of Vitamin C. The science behind high dose vitamin C is that it is a pro-oxidant at high concentrations that then produce hydrogen peroxide within cancer cells. The buildup of hydrogen peroxide generates oxidative stress leading to cell death. Also, vitamin C is an antioxidant that targets free radicals.

RGCC Testing

RGCC is a testing option for patients provided by a laboratory located in Greece. The comprehensive tests collect data on the patient’s genetics, immune profile, and physiology. By identifying specific genetic mutations and expression patterns, RGCC testing provides the providers with complete, reliable, and accurate information about the unique characteristics of the patient’s cancer progression. From guiding treatment decisions to monitoring disease progression, RGCC testing empowers us to take a proactive and personalized approach to cancer management.

SOT Therapy

SOT therapy is Supportive Oligonucleotide therapy, which uses short DNA or RNA molecules to target specific genes or pathways involved in cancer or chronic infections. In other words, it is a gene silencing therapy. These oligonucleotides can either inhibit the expression of harmful genes or boost the expression of beneficial ones, helping to control the disease. Essentially, they’re like tiny molecular tools that help regulate the body’s biological processes to fight the genetics of cancer or infection so it can’t replicate. Over time, these harmful cells or pathogens cannot survive in the body.

Peptide Therapy

Peptide therapy refers to the use of peptides—small chains of amino acids—as therapeutic agents to target specific physiological functions or processes within the body. Peptides are naturally occurring molecules found throughout the body, playing crucial roles in various biological activities. Some peptides can influence immune responses, potentially aiding in chronic disease management or boosting immune function.

Lifestyle Medicine

In addition to these targeted therapies, Meeting Point Health advocates for the integration of lifestyle medicine into cancer care. From adopting an anti-inflammatory diet rich in fruits and vegetables to incorporating herbal therapies, supplements, and stress-reducing practices, lifestyle interventions play a crucial role in supporting overall health and well-being.
