Their shared vision was to bring individualized, precision-based healing to every patient. Together, they often co-treat, offering a truly integrative and well-rounded approach to care. Read More

2. Treatments & Services
What is Functional Medicine?
Functional Medicine is a multi-disciplinary approach to understanding and treating complex chronic illnesses. Providers specializing in functional medicine take the time to learn about their patient and their contributing factors to their health history, including biological, behavioral, psychosocial, and environmental components. Our patients choose a Functional Medicine approach where traditional forms of medicine, such as prescription medications, are no longer effective in treating their autoimmune diseases or other chronic conditions. This patient-centered, holistic form of medicine allows patients to receive personalized treatment protocols that may include various cutting-edge therapies to meet their unique needs. Read More
How is Functional Medicine different from Conventional Medicine?
Conventional Medicine and Functional Medicine differ in how they view the connection between a person and their illness. While conventional medicine often focuses on isolated symptoms or single systems—the trees—Functional Medicine sees the entire forest. It looks at the body as an interconnected system and works to identify and treat the root cause, restoring balance and long-term health from the inside out.
What is Regenerative Orthopedics?
Regenerative Medicine utilizes various techniques to promote tissue regeneration and healing. This form of therapy is often used as an alternative to the overuse of steroids, pain medications, and surgery. Dr. Stephen Matta is a master physician of Regenerative Orthopedics, and utilizes many different treatments to help patients alleviate pain, stop medication use and avoid surgery. Dr. Matta uses a variety of methods including medical acupuncture, manipulation, and ultrasound-guided injections of healing agents such as PRP, peptides, and growth factors. All of these approaches help to support the body’s own natural regenerative abilities. He treats every case like a complex puzzle, assessing and analyzing the dysfunction from multiple perspectives until the root cause of the problem is discovered and treated successfully. Read More
What is regenerative medicine used for?
Regenerative Medicine is highly effective for treating a wide range of conditions, including:
- Joint Pain and Arthritis: Helps reduce pain, inflammation, and stiffness associated with osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis by promoting cartilage repair.
- Tendon and Ligament Injuries: Supports healing of rotator cuff tears, Achilles tendonitis, tennis elbow, and other soft tissue injuries.
- Back and Neck Pain: Treats conditions like herniated discs, sciatica, and sacroiliac (SI) joint dysfunction by regenerating damaged tissues and reducing inflammation.
- Sports Injuries: Accelerates recovery from sprains, strains, and overuse injuries such as runner’s knee or plantar fasciitis.
- Neuropathy and Nerve Pain: Addresses peripheral nerve damage and reduces symptoms such as numbness, tingling, and burning sensations.
- Chronic Pain: Provides long-term relief by targeting the root cause of pain in conditions like fibromyalgia or post-surgical pain.
- Wound Healing: Promotes faster recovery from non-healing wounds or injuries.
- Hair Loss: Stimulates hair follicles and supports regrowth in conditions like alopecia.
- Degenerative Disc Disease: Helps repair damaged spinal discs, improving mobility and reducing pain.
- TMJ Disorders: Relieves pain and dysfunction in the temporomandibular joint by repairing surrounding tissues.

What is Longevity Medicine?
Longevity Medicine is an advanced, proactive approach to health that focuses on extending not just your lifespan, but your healthspan—the years you live feeling strong, vibrant, and mentally sharp. By combining regenerative therapies, precision diagnostics, and functional medicine, Longevity Medicine works to slow cellular aging, optimize hormones, and restore balance throughout the body. At Meeting Point Health, we tailor each protocol to your unique biology, addressing early signs of decline before they progress into disease. The goal is simple yet profound: to help you age gracefully, maintain vitality, and continue living with purpose and energy at every stage of life. Read More
How do you decide which therapies are right for me?
We combine diagnostic tools like ultrasound imaging, lab testing, and functional movement assessments with a deep understanding of your story to create the right plan for you.

What is Bio-Individuality?
Bio-Individuality, also known as biochemical individuality, refers to the concept that each person has unique biological and physiological characteristics. These characteristics influence their nutritional needs, health requirements and responses to various factors such as diet, exercise and environmental stimuli. It recognizes that what works well for one individual may not work for another, and that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to health and wellness. We take bioindividuality very seriously; each person receives an individualized precision treatment plan at Meeting Point.
How long does treatment usually take?
It depends on your therapy—IV infusions may take 30–60 minutes, while some regenerative procedures take longer. We’ll let you know exactly what to expect before your visit.
How are you different from online functional health programs?
At Meeting Point Health, your functional medicine experience is deeply personal and hands-on—something no online program can replicate. From the moment you walk through our doors, you’re cared for by a multidisciplinary team that takes time to listen, examine, and truly understand your story. Your doctor meets you face-to-face, conducts advanced diagnostic testing, and collaborates with in-house practitioners across regenerative medicine, acupuncture, IV therapy, and health coaching. This integrative, team-based approach allows us to connect the dots between systems, identify root causes, and deliver precise, in-person treatments tailored to your body’s needs. It’s not just a protocol—it’s a partnership built on real connection, clinical depth, and compassionate care.
3. Testing
How does testing work?
Our bodies are made up of interdependent systems that need to function in harmony with one another. That’s why when something isn’t right, it can be hard to discover the root cause of an illness or injury. We comprehensively test different systems of the body to try to uncover the complex picture of your health and discover what may be causing your illness. Read More
Is testing worth the investment?
If you’ve had chronic issues, such as chronic pain, chronic fatigue, gut issues, anxiety, and irregular menstrual cycles, you’ve likely been prescribed things like steroids, SSRIs, oral contraceptives, and acid blockers without any lab work ever being done to figure out WHY you are sick.
When we do deeper testing in Functional Medicine, we do so with the intention of finding the root cause. Often, this can be a perfect storm of long-term stress depleting your resources, malnutrition, decreased hormone production, genetics and environmentally-acquired illness from pathogens and toxins.
What types of tests do you use?
Depending on your case, we may test blood, urine, stool, or saliva to evaluate:
Digestive Health: GI mapping, SIBO breath testing, food sensitivities, NutriGenomics, intestinal permeability
Hormones: Sex hormones, thyroid, adrenal function, neurotransmitters, sleep hormones
Biotoxin Illnesses: Lyme disease, mold, mycotoxins, environmental toxins, heavy metals
Cellular Health: Micronutrients, amino acids, organic acids, cardiometabolic health, genomics
Immune System Health: Inflammation markers, autoimmune reactivity, pathogen antibodies

What labs do you send testing to?
Some basic labs may be run through Labcorp or Quest and covered by insurance. However, insurance-based testing is often limited in scope, so we recommend specialized panels for more complete insights.
What happens after my results are in?
When your results are in, our patient care coordinator will have your results available on your online portal and schedule you for an in-depth 1-hour lab review session to evaluate your findings and prescribe a treatment plan for in-office treatment as well as your home protocol.
4. Patient Experience
What should I expect at my first visit?
Your first visit is all about listening and learning. We’ll review your health history, discuss your concerns, and perform any necessary testing so we can design a plan that’s truly personalized.
How should I prepare for my appointment or treatment?
We’ll provide detailed instructions before your visit. To get the most out of your visit, we encourage you to come prepared with any recent lab work, imaging, or medical records, along with a list of your current medications and supplements. Wear comfortable clothing if your treatment involves movement or bodywork, and hydrate well before and after your appointment. Most importantly, arrive with an open mind and a willingness to explore the root causes of your symptoms—our team will guide you every step of the way toward healing and renewal.
How often will I need to come in?
Frequency depends on your condition and goals. Some patients need a series of treatments over a few months, while others come in periodically for maintenance and wellness.
Do treatments require downtime?
Most of our therapies are minimally invasive with little to no downtime. We’ll explain what to expect and guide you through recovery every step of the way.
How do you work with patients who travel from another state or country for treatment?
We regularly work with patients who travel to Meeting Point Health for care. To make the process smooth, we begin with a remote initial consultation ($695), where you’ll meet with our physicians to review your history, map out your goals, and design a treatment plan in advance.
When you arrive in Philadelphia, you’ll meet our team in person before beginning treatment. Destination care is typically structured in 1–4 week blocks, with therapies scheduled four days per week (Tues–Fri). Depending on your needs, this may include IV infusions, regenerative injections, acupuncture, stellate ganglion blocks, nebulizer treatments, and other integrative services.
Our team coordinates your schedule so you can make the most of your time here, and we provide clear pricing before treatments begin. Many destination patients also use our pre-pay “piggybank” program, which offers 5–15% bonus credits on deposits, to simplify billing and maximize their investment in care.
Where We Are
Meeting Point Health is located in the Manayunk section of Philadelphia, known for its rolling hills and tight-knit community. While we serve our local community, it is also our pleasure to serve patients traveling from other states and even internationally.
Where Can I Stay
When traveling from a distance, many of our patients receive treatments 2-3 days in a row in order to make the most of their visit. We work with a nearby hotel, located in the heart of the city, that is mold-free; this is important for our patients suffering from mold toxicity. Each room is a suite and contains a full kitchen so that you can prepare as many meals as you wish. This perk is especially helpful for those of you who have specific dietary needs. It’s located within walking distance to Trader Joe’s and an abundance of restaurants.
Where Can I Eat
Philadelphia is home to many allergen-free restaurants. Dr. Steve and Mary Anne Matta not only established their clinic here, but also live right here in Manayunk, so feel free to ask them questions about local joints that suit your needs. Your patient care coordinator, Tara Roulis, can also help make your stay comfortable.
If you’re spending the whole day with us, be sure to preorder any snacks and fresh-pressed juices before you arrive!
Virtual Appointments
While we love and prefer to see our patients in person, we know that when you’re coming from a distance a virtual appointment can sometimes be preferable if you are not doing in-office procedures. We do offer virtual appointments to our patients who are traveling to see us from long distances for things like lab reviews and health coaching.
Ultimately, what we want for all of our patients is healing. As stated in our mission statement, we strongly believe that the relationship you have with your provider is just as much a part of the healing as the procedures we do. We pride ourselves in taking exceptional care of our patients and helping you feel like you’re at a home away from home. If there is anything we can do to help you with your accommodations or travel to see us, we’re here to help!
Do you offer virtual appointments?
Yes. Meeting Point Health offers convenient virtual appointments for many of our Functional Medicine and Longevity programs. Through secure telehealth visits, you can meet with our practitioners from the comfort of your home to review your symptoms, lab results, and personalized treatment plan. While certain regenerative or IV therapies require in-office care, many consultations, follow-ups, and health coaching sessions can be done virtually. This allows us to provide the same level of precision, compassion, and support—no matter where you are.

5. Safety & Effectiveness
What evidence supports your treatments?
Our therapies are grounded in both medical research and years of clinical experience. We stay up to date with the latest science to ensure your care is safe, effective, and cutting-edge.
Are regenerative treatments safe?
Yes—our treatments are performed by highly trained physicians using advanced techniques and sterile protocols. Most therapies use your body’s own cells or natural compounds to support healing.
Is IV therapy safe?
Yes! All of our IV therapies are performed by experienced RNs with oversight by our physician, Dr. Steve Matta. Our staff always uses sterile techniques and has gone through extensive education for each condition we treat. We make sure you are comfortable and receive precisely the right dosage as you progress through the healing process.
6. Pricing & Packages
What type of financial investment will I need to make?
Your financial investment depends on your goals, lab results, and personalized treatment plan. While regenerative and functional medicine are not covered by insurance, many patients find the investment worthwhile for the lasting improvements in health, energy, and quality of life.
Here’s what you can generally expect:
Initial Consultations
Functional & Integrative Medicine: $695 for your first 75–90 minute visit and $450 for your lab review.
Orthopedics & Regenerative Medicine: $795 for your first 90-minute visit (including exam, ultrasound, and diagnostic work if needed).
Longevity & Performance Medicine: $395 for a 30-minute consult with Dr. Matta to discuss options for optimizing vitality and performance.
Treatment Plans
Functional & Integrative care usually involves advanced lab testing, supplements, peptide therapy, and IV infusions. IVs are typically weekly and range from $750–$1,500 each. Most patients work with us for 3–6 months, with many continuing for a year or longer before transitioning to a maintenance plan.
Orthopedic and regenerative treatments may include peptide therapy, PRP, stem cells, or shockwave therapy. Plans range widely—from about $4,000 to $20,000—depending on the type and extent of treatment needed.
Longevity & Performance medicine is designed for patients interested in biohacking, hormone therapy (TRT), or peptide protocols for muscle recovery, enhanced workouts, or weight loss. Individual peptide pricing varies widely—from about $300 for a 90-day supply to $2,000 for a 30-day supply depending on the peptide. All peptides and hormones must be obtained through our vetted compounding pharmacies.
Destination patients (1–4 weeks onsite) can expect a tailored program combining infusions, regenerative injections, and other therapies, coordinated in advance of arrival.
Flexible Investment Options
Many patients use our pre-pay “piggybank” program to save on care:
~ 5% discount for deposits of $2,500–$5,000 (e.g., a $5,000 deposit provides $5,250 in spending power)
~ 10% discount for deposits of $5,001–$10,000 (e.g., a $10,000 deposit provides $11,000 in spending power)
~ 15% discount for deposits of $10,001+ (e.g., a $15,000 deposit provides $17,250 in spending power)
Bottom Line
We encourage patients to view treatment as a longer-term investment in their health. While exact costs vary, most patients plan for several months of treatment and find the financial investment worthwhile given the depth of care and outcomes.
Does Meeting Point Health accept insurance?
No, we do not accept insurance, including Medicare and Medicaid; however, we do take HSA/FSA, cash and credit cards. We also work with CareCredit if you choose to finance.
Our practitioners and staff fully understand and empathize with the challenges that patients face as they make financial decisions for proper health care. Our practice is very different from a conventional medical practice in many ways, and the time spent with each patient is usually 30-90 minutes. Visits with a physician covered by insurance generally allow for less than 10 minutes total! Conventional medical practices that take insurance maintain brief office visits and high patient loads for this reason. We cannot provide the expert care that every one of our patients deserves under those circumstances.
Insurance also dictates the types of treatments and order of treatments patients can receive for a particular condition. For example, if you visit your physician for chronic knee pain, they will likely start with a steroid injection because insurance requires that you exhaust steroid injection efforts before discussing other options, which may possibly impair your overall chances of recovery. Not good!
Opting out of insurance allows the patient and the doctor to maintain their medical autonomy, which is imperative to ensure you get the right treatment at the right time and the right dose.
What payment options are available?
Meeting Point Health accepts all major credit cards, debit cards, health savings accounts (HSAs), and flexible spending accounts (FSAs). Payment is due at the time of service, and deposits may be required to reserve certain procedures or consultations. While we do not accept insurance, our team is happy to provide detailed invoices or superbills you can submit to your insurance provider for potential reimbursement. We also offer package pricing for select treatments to make ongoing care more accessible. Our goal is to make your investment in health clear, manageable, and stress-free.
Can I use Medicare or Medicaid?
No. Meeting Point Health is a private, fee-for-service practice and does not accept Medicare, Medicaid, or other insurance plans. This allows our practitioners the freedom to spend more time with you, use advanced diagnostics, and provide fully customized treatment plans without the limitations of traditional insurance models. While we don’t bill insurance directly, we can provide itemized receipts or superbills upon request for you to submit to your insurance provider, though reimbursement is not guaranteed.
Can I get an insurance reimbursement?
Good news! If you have out-of-network insurance benefits, you can submit your receipts for potential reimbursement. Depending on your plan, you may receive a percentage of the cost of your visit back either as a reimbursement check in the mail from the insurance company (or an equivalent amount applied to your out-of-network deductible, if applicable). Some plans reimburse up to 80%! All you have to do is ask the front desk for an insurance receipt after your visit.
What is your No Refund Policy?
At Meeting Point Health, we’re dedicated to supporting your health journey with the highest care and compassion. We want to take a moment to share our no-refund policy in a way that feels clear, kind, and aligned with our shared goal of your well-being.
Medicine—whether conventional or integrative—is a deeply individualized process. Every person’s body responds uniquely, and while we pour our expertise, evidence-based approaches, and heart into your care, we cannot guarantee specific outcomes. This is true across all forms of healthcare, as healing is influenced by many factors beyond our control. By choosing to invest in your treatment with us, you’re making an autonomous and empowered decision to prioritize your health. We honor that choice deeply. Our no-refund policy reflects the nature of personalized care. Each treatment plan is tailored specifically for you, involving time, resources, and expertise to deliver the best possible experience. Payments help us maintain cutting-edge tools, a nurturing environment, and a team committed to your journey. Because of this, we’re unable to offer refunds based on treatment outcomes, as it’s simply not possible to guarantee results in any medical practice.
The Bright Side of Our No-Refund Policy
We know a no-refund policy might sound firm, but it’s designed with fairness and positivity in mind! Here’s why it benefits you and our community:
• Keeping Care Accessible: By maintaining this policy, we can keep our focus on delivering high-quality, evidence-informed treatments without the financial uncertainty refunds might create. This helps us offer competitive pricing and invest in the latest integrative health advancements for you.
• Encouraging Commitment: Choosing treatment is a step toward self-care, and this policy supports your dedication to that process. It’s a reminder that you’re investing in possibilities—new energy, balance, and wellness—while we partner with you every step of the way.
• Sustaining Our Team’s Passion: Your investment allows us to support our incredible staff, who bring expertise and warmth to every visit. This ensures you’re always greeted with the care and attention you deserve.
• Transparency You Can Trust: We believe in being up front about costs and expectations. Our no-refund policy means no surprises—you know exactly what you’re investing in, and we’re here to make every moment of your care meaningful.
While we can’t guarantee specific results, we can promise to listen, adapt, and work tirelessly to support your goals. If you ever have concerns or questions about your treatment, we’re here with open hearts to discuss them. Your trust means the world to us, and we’re committed to making your experience as positive and empowering as possible.
7. Results & Follow-Up Care
How soon will I see results?
The timeline for results varies depending on your condition, the treatments you receive, and how your body responds. Some patients notice improvements—such as reduced pain, better energy, or clearer focus—within days or weeks, while deeper healing and regeneration often take several months. At Meeting Point Health, we focus on creating sustainable, long-term change rather than quick fixes. Your provider will outline what to expect based on your personalized plan and monitor your progress closely, adjusting your therapies to help you achieve the best possible outcomes at every stage of healing.
Will I need ongoing treatments?
That depends on your specific goals, condition, and how your body responds to care. Some patients achieve lasting relief after a defined series of treatments, while others benefit from ongoing maintenance to sustain progress and prevent future issues. At Meeting Point Health, we take a proactive approach—designing personalized plans that evolve with your healing journey. Whether you need short-term regenerative support or long-term functional and longevity care, our team will guide you toward the right balance of treatments to help you maintain optimal health and vitality over time. That depends on your specific goals, condition, and how your body responds to care. What maintenance or lifestyle steps do you recommend?
We believe true healing continues beyond the treatment room. To maintain your results and support long-term vitality, we emphasize lifestyle strategies that nourish your body at every level—balanced nutrition, quality sleep, regular movement, stress management, and meaningful connection. Our health coaches will help you build habits that align with your goals and integrate seamlessly into your daily life. Depending on your needs, we may also recommend periodic regenerative, IV, or peptide therapies to sustain cellular health and prevent decline. At Meeting Point Health, maintenance isn’t just about upkeep—it’s about thriving.
