Meet Our Team

Meet Dr. Steve Matta, DO MBA

Steve Matta, DO, MBA, is a master physician, licensed and dually board-certified in Primary Care and Non-Surgical Orthopedics. At Meeting Point Health, serving Philadelphia, PA residents and beyond, he specializes in the management of pain conditions using cutting-edge holistic therapies integrative, regenerative, and functional medicine. He also incorporates osteopathic medicine, medical acupuncture, neurofunctional movement, IV nutrient therapy, and ozone therapy. Dr. Matta is one of those doctors that enjoys a good puzzle, breaking things down diagnostically with such detail that it takes a minimum of an hour on your first visit.

Dr. Matta is a DO (Osteopathic Medical Physicians), trained to take a whole-body approach, looking at the physical structure of the body (the bones, muscles, joints, nerves, and organs) and how it affects the function of the body (how your body regulates and maintains homeostasis). Disease occurs when structure and function are misaligned.

In addition to looking at your symptoms, labs, and images, DO’s who utilize Osteopathic Manipulation use a hands-on approach to diagnose and treat the imbalances in your body.

Meet Mary Anne Matta, MS, MA, LAC

Mary Anne Matta, LAc, is a one-of-a-kind functional medicine provider, serving Philadelphia, PA residents and beyond at Meeting Point Health. She practices a unique and innovative East-meets-West style of Functional Medicine in which she expertly finds the root cause of disease and imbalance. No stone is left unturned in her evaluations.

Mary Anne is an expert diagnostician and clinician of the internal body. Every chronic condition that walks into her office is a challenge met with curiosity, wisdom, and compassion. Having formerly worked as a statistician and researcher for medical schools and hospital systems, Mary Anne approaches each of her treatment protocols with a highly-educated, evidence-informed approach.

Her medicine bag is packed with the most dynamic holistic tools available including ozone therapy, electric medicine, IV therapy, bodywork, regenerative injections, herbal and nutritional prescriptions, coaching, cupping, and acupuncture.

Daily, Dr. Matta and Mary Anne refine their craft into a medicine that is worthy of the patients that seek their care. Theirs is a true marriage of the most effective integrative approaches to healthcare.

Pre-Med Studies, University of the Science in Philadelphia
BA Honors Psychology – Temple University
MS Statistics – University of Pennsylvania
MA Acupuncture – Won Institute
Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Science

Mary Anne’s formal education is in pre-med, psychology, research, statistics, and medicine studying at several Philadelphia universities. She has 2 Masters degrees from The University of Pennsylvania and The Won Institute in Philadelphia where she graduated valedictorian. She is licensed and board-certified by the Pennsylvania State Board of Medicine, and also a Doctoral Candidate at the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences.

When looking for a provider, you need someone with as much life experience as formal education. She spent several years in teaching and research when she became a stay-at-home mother of two children so she understands the wiles and joys of motherhood and family life, and what it is like to press on while wearing several hats.

Mary Anne has also had an adventurous life traveling all over the world learning languages, doing missions, and teaching in Ghana, Egypt, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Morocco, Guatemala, South Korea, Turkey, Greece, Italy, France, England, Ireland, and all over the beautiful 50 states of America. She has also done international training in integrative medicine in South Korea. In her travels, she learned the effect that the environment has over the body. Diversity in the world ecology reflects our internal environment. That is why it is important to connect to nature in a physical way with daily sunshine, eating a plant-based diet, moving your body outside, and going barefoot once in a while.
